Left for Dead 2
The new game due to be released by software company Valve is supposed to be their biggest release (according to pre-orders already taken) but surely the Half Life 2 franchise and subsequent releases would have dwarfed the left for dead gaming series?

The demand for this new game, while it might be stronger than for the average gaming software title – is certainly no reflected through internet chatter and interest. As of 5th October (12 days before official release date) their is no upward google trend on discussion around Left for Dead 2 and search patterns for cheats, hacks, walkthroughs and other game trainers are no where to be seen!
Valve is apparently going to spend 25 million USD advertising Left for Dead 2 – specifically targeting the holiday gaming crowd. This is a smart move, but any talk of this game outstripped the Half Life franchise seems very premature.
We jumped on the gaming forums and found most users saying the same thing. Valve fanboys were more interested in the release of Halflife3 or certainly the next chapter in the half life series as opposed to any talk about the leftfordead game.
Valve software have a history of making some great games, their ability remains market leading – however sometimes spinning the media too much or tripping over delayed releases (such as the long delayed team fortress 2) can cause more harm than good in the gamers eyes.
Sure, most gamers will not turn away from any new release in the halflife franchise, but lets not be unrealistic and try and spin the leftfordead2 game as the ‘biggest game release ever’ – because that seems a little way off the mark guys!
